Point your camera at a maths problem and Math Solver AI reads it — printed or handwritten — and shows how it is solved, one step at a time. Each step names the technique, shows the line of maths it produces, and explains why that move is allowed. Every solution ends with a way to check the answer yourself.
It covers arithmetic and fractions, algebra and equations, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics and word problems, and it explains in any of 50 languages.
How many free solves do I get?
One every day, forever. There is no account to create and no trial that runs out — open the app tomorrow and you have another one. A subscription removes the daily limit if you need more.
It read my problem wrong. What can I do?
Almost always this is framing. After you take the photo, drag the corners so the box holds one question and nothing else — a whole page of exercises makes the app guess which one you meant. Beyond that: more light, a flatter page, and getting close enough that the writing fills most of the frame. If your handwriting is faint, going over it once in darker pen helps more than anything else.
The answer is wrong.
It can be. The solution comes from an AI model, and models make mistakes — they can misread a digit, misjudge an ambiguous question, or simply get the maths wrong, all while sounding certain. That is why every solution ends with a "check it yourself" step. If an answer looks off, try the "explain in more depth" button, which re-solves the problem with our most careful model. And please email us the problem: it is genuinely the most useful thing you can send.
Can I type a problem instead of photographing one?
Yes — tap "Type it" on the home screen. There is a row of maths symbols above the keyboard for the ones iOS hides (√, π, ², ∫, Σ and so on).
Where are my old solutions?
In the History tab. They are stored on your phone only — we never receive them and cannot see them. The app keeps your most recent 200 and removes older ones automatically. You can delete any single one, or clear the lot, from Settings.
Does it work offline?
No. Reading and solving a problem needs our server, so it needs an internet connection. Your saved history opens fine offline.
I paid but the app still says free.
Open Settings and tap Restore purchases. That asks Apple directly what you own. If it still shows free afterwards, check you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it on, then email us.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On your iPhone: Settings › tap your name › Subscriptions › Math Solver AI › Cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel it. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Which languages does it explain in?
50, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Azerbaijani, Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Nepali, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malay, Filipino, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Serbian, Slovenian, Greek and Catalan. Change it any time in Settings — the app picks your phone's language on first launch.
Is my data private?
There is no account, no analytics and no tracking. Your photo is sent to be read and solved and is not stored afterwards; your solution history never leaves your phone. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.
Can I use this for my homework?
It is built to teach the method, which is why it always shows the working rather than just the answer. Whether a solver tool is allowed in assessed work is up to your school or examining body — please check their rules.
