This Privacy Policy applies to Math Solver AI as distributed on the Apple App Store.
There is no account, no sign-up, no email address, and no name. The app contains no analytics SDK of any kind — no Firebase, no Mixpanel, nothing — and no advertising SDK. Nothing you do is tracked across apps or websites, and no data is ever sold or shared with anyone for advertising.
Two things do leave your phone, and only for as long as it takes to answer your question:
When you scan or type a problem, that image or text is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API to be read and solved. The solution comes back to your phone.
We do not store your photos or your typed problems. They are held in memory only for the seconds it takes to produce an answer, and are not written to any database, log or file on our side. Google processes the request as our service provider under the Gemini API terms, which state that requests submitted through the paid API are not used to train Google's models. The app only ever accesses the camera or a photo you actively choose. It never reads your photo library on its own and never uploads anything you did not ask it to solve.
On first launch the app generates a random identifier — a string of digits and letters, created on your device, with no connection to you, your Apple Account, your phone number, or your device's hardware IDs. It is stored in the iOS Keychain.
It exists for exactly two reasons: to count your one free solve per day so the free tier cannot be abused, and to remember that you have a subscription so it works after you reinstall. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or tracking, and it is never linked to your identity because we have no identity to link it to.
Deleting the app and choosing to remove its Keychain data, or erasing your device, clears this identifier.
Solved problems are saved only on your phone, in the app's own local storage. They are never uploaded, never backed up to us, and we have no way to read them. The app keeps your most recent 200 solutions and removes older ones automatically. You can delete any single item, or clear the whole history at once, from Settings. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Math Solver AI offers an optional subscription. Payment is processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account — we never see your name, email address, or payment details. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives only the random identifier from section 3 and your purchase receipt, so your subscription can be activated and restored. This is not used for advertising or tracking. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Like any internet service, our server briefly records technical information needed to keep it running and to stop abuse: the time of a request, the random device identifier, and the network address it came from. This is used to enforce rate limits and nothing else. It is not linked to any person and is deleted automatically as it ages out.
Only the service providers needed to make the app work: Google (Gemini API, to read and solve the problem), Supabase (our server infrastructure), RevenueCat (subscription status), and Apple (payments and app distribution). We share data with no one else, and we never sell it.
Math Solver AI is rated 4+ and is intended for students of any age. As described above, the app has no account and collects no personal information, so nothing personal is collected from children either. It has no social features, no chat with other people, no user-generated content shared publicly, and no advertising.
Because the app holds no personal data about you on our servers, there is nothing to export or delete on our side. Your solution history is yours and is cleared from Settings, or by deleting the app. If you want the random identifier and its usage counters removed from our server, email us with the identifier and we will delete the record.
Updates will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date.
