1. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information. Specifically:

• We do not collect your name, email, or any identity information.
• Location is processed on your device to calculate prayer times. By default, your approximate location and the current date are also sent to a public prayer-times API to match your country's official authority (see Section 3) — this can be turned off in Settings. We never send your name, device ID, or any other identifying information.
• We do not use any analytics SDK (no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude).
• We do not use any advertising SDK.
• We do not require account creation or login.

2. How the App Works

Prayer times are calculated entirely on your device using astronomical formulas (Jean Meeus algorithm) and the open-source Adhan-swift library. No internet connection is required or used for this calculation.

Your location (GPS coordinates or manually selected city) is stored locally on your device in Apple's secure SwiftData store.

3. Network Requests

Prayer Times makes network requests in two situations, both to the same public, free AlAdhan.com API. Neither ever sends your name, device ID, or any other identifying information — only location and date.

Official authority sync (on by default). Roughly every 30 days, the app fetches your country's official authority's published prayer times (e.g. Diyanet for Turkey, Umm al-Qura for Saudi Arabia) and adjusts its own calculations to match them. Only your approximate latitude, longitude, and the current date are sent. You can turn this off any time in Settings → Use official prayer times for my country.

Live Verify (manual, on-demand). The "Live Verify" feature in Settings → How Is This Calculated? makes a single request, only when you explicitly tap the button, to compare your calculated times against the same reference source. This request:

• Is only triggered when you explicitly tap the "Live Verify" button.
• Sends only your latitude and longitude to AlAdhan.com — no device ID, no personal data.
• Is never automatic or in the background.

If you prefer not to use this feature, simply do not tap the button. All core functionality works fully offline.

Subscriptions & Payments

Optional subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We never receive or store your payment details, name, or Apple ID.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, non-personal app user ID and your purchase/entitlement status only — never your name, email, or location. It is not an analytics or advertising service. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

4. Data Storage

All preferences (madhab, location, notification settings) are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is:

• Never transmitted to any server.
• Included in iCloud Backup if you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device (this is Apple's system, not ours).
• Deleted when you delete the app.

5. Children's Privacy

Prayer Times does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. The app contains no account system and no data collection of any kind.

6. Third-Party Services

Prayer Times uses the following open-source libraries, none of which collect data:

• Adhan-swift (MIT License) — prayer time calculation engine, runs locally.

City data is sourced from GeoNames (CC-BY 4.0) and is bundled with the app — no network request is made to GeoNames.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the new policy at this URL. Significant changes will be noted in the App Store release notes.
