1. Information We Collect

Exam Maker is designed to be privacy-respecting. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information to use the app.

• Anonymous identifier: The first time you open the app, an opaque randomly generated identifier (UUID) is created for your install. It contains no personal data and is used only to enforce daily generation limits, link your subscription, and assist support. You can view it in Settings and delete your account at any time.
• Uploaded content: Documents, images and text you submit to generate questions. Content is processed in real time by our AI provider and is not stored permanently on our servers.
• Usage data: Number of generations, last generation date, and subscription status — tied to your anonymous identifier, not to you personally.
• Support messages (optional): If you write to us via the in-app form, we store the subject and message text, your anonymous identifier, and optionally an email if you choose to provide one. We also capture app version, OS and selected language to help reproduce issues. Deleted when you delete your account.
• Device-level data (transient): IP address and country are visible to our edge infrastructure during a request for rate limiting and regional compliance, but are not retained as a per-user log.
• Anonymous usage analytics: A small set of in-app events (e.g. paywall viewed, plan selected, generation started) tagged only with your anonymous identifier, app version and platform — no advertising ID, no device fingerprint, no third-party tracking SDKs. You can turn this off in Settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the question generation service.
• To manage your account and subscription.
• To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse.
• To send important service-related communications.

3. Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Authentication and data storage.
• AI providers: Document content is sent to third-party AI providers to generate questions. Content is not stored by these providers beyond processing.
• Document conversion: Office files are converted to PDF on the fly via a third-party API and not retained.
• RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management.
• App stores: In-app purchases are processed by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), per their respective terms.

4. Data Retention

Uploaded content is processed in real time and not stored permanently. Your anonymous identifier and the usage counters tied to it are retained until you delete your account from within the app. Support messages are deleted when you delete your account, or sooner if you delete a message yourself.

5. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time inside the app: Settings → Account ID → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible; a fresh anonymous identifier is issued on the next launch. Active subscriptions are managed by your store account (Apple App Store or Google Play) and can be cancelled in your store account's subscription settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Exam Maker is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
